ChildHope lost a hero last week. Tony Fernandez, a five-time All-Star and all-time leader in hits and games played for the Toronto Blue Jays, suffered a stroke and died at the age of 57 on Saturday. But he wasn’t a hero to us because of his baseball record, as impressive as it is. Tony loved Jesus and has given many children HOPE in the Dominican Republic through ChildHope (then Latin America ChildCare).
