Acts 2:22 says, “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—” (ESV)
The vision of ChildHope is education, transformation and compassion. One way God has allowed us to show compassion here in Guatemala is through water filter distribution. One day we planned a trip to distribute filters in a rural community where we have a school of about 200 students. The community is an agricultural area located near the El Salvadorian border.
We arranged to have parents from the school come to receive water filters. When we distribute the filters, we share the gospel message. We compare Jesus to the filter. His blood cleanses us from our sins, just as the filter cleanses the impurities from the water. After our presentation, we give an opportunity for people to receive Christ. This particular day, we also talked about how Jesus can heal our sicknesses and asked if anyone wanted prayer for healing. Several people raised their hands. We began praying with them. After we finished praying, a woman declared that her shoulder was healed! She cried out: “Today I received my healing!” Praise God that he still heals and performs miracles today!

Our compassion for ChildHope families has led us to provide filters for clean water. The compassion of our Lord includes transforming a broken body needing physical healing.
Maybe today, you need a healing. Lord, we pray and believe that you will touch our infirmities and perform the miraculous.
