Treated Like Royalty

The school band played as a beautiful bouquet of local flowers was presented to Miriam Pope upon her arrival at the ChildHope-sponsored school in El Salvador.

Why such royal treatment? Miriam Pope has sponsored children through ChildHope since the 1980s! Her faithfulness has helped several children break free from extreme poverty and experience the joy of a full stomach … a wonderful education … and a divine encounter with the Savior who loves them!

Miriam, a teacher, first sponsored a child and asked her Spanish class to sponsor another. Over the years, she has remained committed to sponsorship. Finally, in 2017, she had the opportunity to visit her current sponsored children, meet their families, and spend 10 days in the country she has grown to love.

When asked why she continues sponsoring children, Miriam says, “I just caught the vision that God gave John Bueno to help poor children. As an educator, I can see the value of what is happening in the ChildHope schools and helping them with their education. This is a worthy cause and something that is going to last into eternity.”

ChildHope helped Miriam plan the trip, and meeting, of a lifetime. Let us know if we can help you do the same! Imagine the joy of meeting your sponsored child face-to-face!
