2018 Easter Devotional — March 4

Exodus 20:1-7 (click to view Scripture below)

From the very beginning it has been God’s desire to reveal Himself and to have an intimate relationship with each and every one of us. In the Ten Commandments, He has revealed Himself to be the only God and that we have no other gods before Him. With these principles also comes a promise that when we serve God and keep His commandments, He will show us His steadfast love.

Part of the ChildHope task is to assure that every single child that is attending one of our schools will hear the message that God wants to show them His steadfast love and give them hope! There is hope in knowing the life principles of the Ten Commandments! There is hope in knowing that it is God that delivers us from slavery! There is hope in knowing God. And, there is hope for every child that still has not heard.

Prayer: Lord, help us this Easter season to tell every child that it is you that delivers from bondage and sets us free.

Exodus 20:1-7 (ESV)

Tenants

1And God spoke all these words, saying,

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

“You shall have no other gods before me.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
